Maybel’s Legacy does not operate a brick-and-mortar facility. Instead, we are a foster-based rescue, meaning every animal in our care is living in a real home with volunteers who have opened their hearts and homes on a temporary basis. This model allows our animals to decompress, heal, and thrive in loving environments while they wait for their forever families.

We are also proud to be a 100% volunteer-operated organization. Every aspect of our rescue—from animal care and transport to communications, fundraising, and adoption coordination—is powered by people who give their time freely, driven by compassion rather than compensation. This means every dollar donated goes directly toward the animals and the mission, not overhead or salaries.
